Houston, USA, Oct 14 (efe-epa).- Houston Texans cornerback Johnathan Joseph returned an interception for the game-winning touchdown to defeat the Buffalo Bills 20-13 on Sunday.

It was Houston's third consecutive victory after a shaky start to the season, which saw them lose their opening three games, and takes them to second in the AFC South.

With just 1:23 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Joseph picked off backup Buffalo quarterback Nathan Pederman, in for the injured Josh Allen, and ran 28 yards into the endzone untouched to lift the home team to victory and help them avoid a third consecutive overtime appearance.

Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson made 15 completions from 25 attempts for 177 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions as he continued his indifferent form since returning from a cruciate knee ligament injury which interrupted his record-breaking rookie 2017 season.

Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen disappointed with 10-of-17 for 84 yards and ran for an additional 20 before being substituted by Nathan Peterman after suffering an elbow injury late in the third quarter.

The Bills, who visit the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7, go 2-4 on the season, while Houston face a tough trip to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars.
